Karen Stephens
Over the last 14 years Karen's work in crisis management, business continuity and emergency management has taken her around the world, managing assignments with major corporations, overseas governments, large government departments and local government.
Assisting the Government of Samoa to develop and implement emergency management legislation in 2007 was a major achievement for Karen. As a part of this process she was responsible for managing the engagement of government departments and private organisations with regard to their responsibilities during major emergencies. The Samoan tsunami in 2009 was the first significant test of the processes developed.
Karen specialises in:
- developing crisis management and business continuity methodologies and solutions including planning, training and implementation
- writing and facilitating major simulation exercises
- risk management and capability analysis.
Karen is also active on the speaking circuit, delivering keynote addresses at major international business continuity and emergency management conferences.
