Sandra Pedersen

Educating and training clients in how to deal with emergency situations is Sandra’s forte. She is involved in the development of emergency and pandemic response planning and facilitating practical crisis and emergency management exercises.

Sandra’s expertise is also drawn upon for business continuity planning and training.

With a special interest in pandemic planning Sandra has assisted a range of organisations on their pandemic response plans and preparation for local and national pandemic exercises. She worked with Wellington Regional Public Health in the development of its Pandemic Response Plan and then helped them put theory into practice by assisting during the H1N1 (Swine Flu) epidemic in 2009.

Sandra has also undertaken a lot of work in schools and led the team that developed the national emergency management school resource, What's the Plan Stan?

Along with operational experience during floods, fires and the H1N1 response, Sandra is currently the Wellington CDEM Group Alternate Lifeline Utility Co-ordinator
