This project was commissioned by the Auckland Region CDEM Group to provide an assessment of its current emergency management capacity and capability (readiness and response). The assessment is derived from an independently developed rating methodology which examines the collective operational readiness of the CDEM Group partners (emergency services, local authorities and lifeline utilities) to prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters.
The assessment represents the first attempt by a CDEM Group in New Zealand to undertake a semi-quantitative assessment of its operational readiness and response.
The results are intended to support the CDEM Group in the development of its work programme and allow it to focus on priority areas for improvement.
The final report is available on the CDEM Group's website
