New Zealand Centre for Advanced Engineering - Risk Programme (ongoing)

The New Zealand Centre for Advanced Engineering (CAENZ) is a think tank based in New Zealand that acts as a national centre within the engineering and technology sectors to provide an independant and non-partisan view on major issues of the day. Kristin Hoskin is the manager of the "Managing with Risk" programme at CAENZ. In this role she provides project management, research contribution, facilitation and develops outreach presentations.

Kristin was project manager for the Organisational Risk Communication & Risk Appreciation project which culminated in the publication Challenging the Future: Connecting the Words in Risk Communication in early 2007. In addition to providing project management, Kristin was a member of the project steering committee and produced two case studies as research for the project. She was a primary author in the final publication.

Kristin has both delivered and facilitated in a number of workshops on risk communication in New Zealand and Australia. She has also produced articles on the subject and presented CAENZ's work at several conferences.

Kristin recently provided project management for the new publication Fire Engineering Design Guide (3rd Edition) due for release in mid 2008 and is now project managing projects on natural hazards and land-use planning.

The Kestrel contact for this project is Kristin Hoskin.
